Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning Friday, Gophers softball senior outfielder Bree Blanchette hit a grand slam off of Purdue's Lilly Fecho to send Minnesota into the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament in Evanston, Illinois.

Nikki Anderson closed out the game for Minnesota (39-9), who advances to play either Nebraska or Ohio State in the first semifinal game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

Kaitlyn Richardson hit her ninth home run of the year to give Minnesota a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

Purdue responded with a two-RBI single from Daniella Fletcher off of starter Sara Moulton in the third inning and a home run by Tori Chiodo off of Sara Groenewegen in the fifth to lead 3-1.

That's when the Gophers rallied for five runs, capped by Blanchette's slam.

Minnesota played Purdue in the final weekend of the regular season, winning two of three games, to cap one of the best regular seasons in program history.
