The Minnesota Senate is set to release its bonding bill proposal on Monday.
It’s one of the major items the legislature still has to agree on before the session ends this month.
The House proposed a $975 million bonding bill earlier this month. Of that money, the House's proposal includes $125 million which would be paid with cash from the budget surplus and the other $850 million would be borrowed.
The House proposal is a bit smaller than what Governor Mark Dayton has proposed.
Gov. Dayton proposed $986 million worth of projects, of which $233 million would be dedicated to the University of Minnesota and state colleges and $126 million would be used to finish restoration of the capitol. Read his bonding proposal here.
The House proposal must be matched up with a competing Senate version.
