Time to start whipping your yard into shape. With the ups and downs of this spring, you more than likely haven't even touched your yard yet.
Garden guru Larry Pfarr recommends getting your pruning shears ready. Pfarr says now is a good time to trim back those summer blooming shrubs or dead perennials in your yard. He said do not prune evergreens or trees just yet.
As for raking and fertilizing, now is the good time to do it. Pfarr said wait on those crabgrass preventers.
KSTP meteorologist Dave Dahl says the best opportunity to get out in the yard will be this weekend. He said noon to 6 p.m. Saturday will be a good time, and all day Sunday should be perfect weather wise.
