Byron Smith woke up this morning behind bars where he will likely be for the rest of his life.

On Tuesday, a jury found him guilty of murdering two teenage cousins on Thanksgiving Day 2012. Smith's attorney says they're already planning an appeal to the conviction on first- and second-degree murder charges.

Christa Groshek, an attorney with Groshek Law, joined Chris Egert in the studio to talk about the jury's relatively quick decision and what might have gone wrong for the Smith's defense.
