GA west metro community is praying one of its own survives. A Minnetonka football player was recently injured off the field.

Andrew Viger is fighting for his life. Viger was in a long-boarding accident, earlier this month. He was skating down a local hill on a long-board that he made when it broke, causing an injury to his brain stem.

Suddenly, "Vigs", as his friends call him, the always-positive, caring high school senior was in the hospital in a coma.

Minnetonka Head Football Coach Dave Nelson said, "He's got a lot of people pulling for him."

They're doing so by wearing orange, his favorite color. Now, students are donating money for the family's medical expenses, and wearing orange bracelets to show their support.

"I think it speaks volumes to how strong Minnetonka is as a community, you know coming together," said teammate and friend Jack Rotman.

Together, they painted the school rock. "That was a big thing, that was really special," said Paul Herbes, Viger's friend . They say #85 made football special.

"The hardest practices of the week he would go in with a smile, and he would always just bring the best attitude," said fiend and teammate David Cushing.

When Viger was asked junior year to switch from a flashier position, to tight-end, he didn't complain. Coach Nelson said, "Right then I knew he was a really special kid."

They all believe he has a bright future.
