Minnesota could be on the verge of changes in some of its gun laws. A group of lawmakers from both sides is working to pass a bill to end firearm ownership for convicted stalkers and domestic abusers in Minnesota.

The bill was written by former police officer, Representative Dan Schoen, DFL-St. Paul Park.  He's been carefully working with pro-gun groups like the NRA and the Gun Owners Civil Rights Alliance to use language everyone can live with.

"We are doing some final tweaks to make sure everyone is happy with the language," said Schoen.

On Monday at the State Capitol, supporters of the bill visited lawmakers, trying to drum up last-minute support.

"You don't know what goes on behind closed doors. You don't know what goes on beyond family walls. I think it would help a lot of people," said Diane Sellgren, a domestic violence survivor.

The House is expected to vote on the bill on Wednesday.
