The season for spring storms is here, and this week we're helping you prepare for severe weather.
On Tuesday KSTP.com meteorologist Dave Dahl discussed ways to stay safe during lightning and thunderstorms.
Dave says the safest place to be during a storm is inside your home. He says stay away from electrical appliances and your landline phone because if lightning strikes outside it can travel along the power lines.
Being inside of a car also provides a little bit of protection.
If you can't get inside a building during a lightning storm, you should crouch down if you're outside - but don't lie on the ground.
