The wife of former Minnesota Vikings player Joe Senser left a state prison where she has served time for a fatal hit-and-run.
Amy Senser was transferred from the Shakopee prison to a work release facility. She was approved for transfer to a jail or halfway house.
Senser was convicted of criminal vehicular homicide in the 2011 death of 38-year-old Anousone Phanthavong, who was struck while refilling his gas tank on a Minneapolis exit ramp.
She will be on work release until October, then she'll be on supervised release until December of next year. Senser has been in custody since July of 2012.

Meanwhile, a bill moving through the Minnesota legislature would require drivers to stop and investigate any possible injury or property damage after a collision.

The so called "Hit and Run" bill passed in the senate on Tuesday.

Minn. Sen. Kevin Dahle of Northfield says the current law requires prosecutors to prove the driver knew he or she had hit a person before being required to stop at the scene of a collision.

He says it's a loophole that encourages drivers to leave a scene and later claim they didn't know what they hit.

It's now up to the house to vote on the bill.
