A group of troops is back on American soil tonight just in time for Easter.

Their plane landed around 8 p.m. on Saturday. It's the kind of welcome home that usually doesn't happen.

That's because, when people - like you - donate a package of cookies to the "Operation Cookie Care Package," the Girl Scout troop and the military troop involved don't usually have the chance to meet each other face-to-face.

But, that's exactly what happened Saturday night.

Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys gave a one-of-a-kind shout-out to 75 military men and women inside the Humphrey terminal at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The 461st Engineering Company returned from the Dominican Republic, where they were building schools.

This year alone, people have donated 27,000 packages of cookies to members of the armed forces and their families across the nation.

Some of those cookies were passed out to soldiers at MSP on Saturday.

The soldiers' next stop is to Fargo, North Dakota for more training.
