Authorities in central Minnesota are looking for whoever burglarized a widow's home while she was attending her husband's funeral.
Anne Crowley of Delano arrived home with her children from the parish cemetery to find her house had been burglarized.
"Your first response when you hear about it is anger at this kind of injustice," said Fr. Paul Kammen of St. Peter and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where the funeral was held. "How could someone take advantage of someone in such a situation?"
Crowley's husband of 27 years, 50-year-old Steven Crowley, died in a highway crash. His funeral was held Wednesday in Delano, and he was buried that afternoon.
Kammen says between 500 and 600 people attended the funeral. He called it "an incredible outpouring of support for the family," and noted that the church typically only has a crowd that size on Christmas and Easter.
The Wright County Sheriff's Office says the crime happened sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m.
Authorities don't know yet what all was taken.
A possible suspect vehicle was described as an older Suburban style truck charcoal grey in color, according to the sheriff's office.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Wright County Sheriff's Office at 763-682-1162.
