A man wanted in Ramsey County for kidnapping was arrested in Los Angeles Thursday.

According to ABC affiliate KABC-TV, FBI and LAPD personnel were in pursuit of Jesus Ramirez, who was considered armed and dangerous before his capture. Police closed down several streets as they tried to track Ramirez down.

Ramirez was taken into custody at the Pepper Tree Motel in North Hollywood at about 5:30 p.m. He was to be booked at the Van Nuys Jail.

Ramirez, 31, was wanted for four counts of kidnapping and one count of aggravated robbery by Ramsey County in Minnesota, according to the Saint Paul Police Department. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the case involved the abduction of two people taken to a house and held while their relatives were asked to turn over methamphetamines or cash as ransom.

Ramirez is a suspected gang member from Los Angeles.
