It's gone. As of Thursday, the Metrodome is no more.

Truckload number 4,910 was hauled away from the site to a recycling plant in Little Canada carrying the last of the Dome's debris.

Demolition contractor Frattalone Companies reports the project was completed in just over nine weeks, which is four weeks ahead of schedule.  They company logged 15,800 hours.

Despite temperatures falling to 20 degrees below zero at times, and a series of implosions that became necessary to bring the Metrodome down, additional overnight crews worked to complete the job ahead of schedule.

More than 80 percent of the steel and concrete from the site will be recycled; much of it will be used for the Interstate 35-E MnPass project.

Construction on the 65,000 seat stadium is expected to be completed in July, 2016.
