A 23-year-old Richfield man was charged with a felony following Saturday night's chaos in Dinkytown related to the Gophers Frozen Four loss.

Michael Juberian faces a felony riot charge and a gross misdemeanor assault charge for allegedly assaulting an officer.

Thousands of students packed Fourth Street and 14th Avenue after the hockey games on Thursday and Saturday.

The disturbance Saturday came after Union College scored three times in a 1 minute, 54 second span in the first period in a 7-4 victory over Minnesota in the NCAA Frozen Four championship.

A rowdy crowd of a few hundred people formed in the street near the University of Minnesota around 10 p.m.

According to the criminal complaint, Juberian threw numerous bottles at police officers. The complaint alleges when Juberian ran out of the bottles, he would run to find more, to continue throwing them at officers.

Juberian moved to a bus shelter, found a rock, and threw it at the officers, according to the complaint. Juberian also allegedly threw a chunk of concrete the size of a baseball at an officer, which landed on the officer's foot.

Officers subdued Juberian with a stun blow.

Juberian remains in custody. He faces a maximum of six years in prison, with a maximum fine of $13,000.
