Two of the top bosses in the sixth-largest and fastest-growing school district in the state have quit their jobs, and there has been no public explanation.
Assistant Superintendent Keith Ryskoski and Assistant Superintendent Dave Bernhardson had their resignations accepted by the South Washington County School District on the same day in late March, but no one in the district will explain to parents and taxpayers why they are leaving.
We asked the school district for interviews over two days and were finally told by a spokesperson that the district chooses to not "participate" in an interview. So we went to the District 833 School Board meeting Thursday night and asked Superintendent Keith Jacobus to explain to taxpayers and parents what is happening in in his office.
He told us he had "no comment." Two years ago, former Superintendent Mark Porter accepted a settlement to avoid a lawsuit with the district. We talked with several parents who told us they were concerned about the two superintendents leaving without explanation.
One parent told us "the lack of information makes it suspicious." We also asked Ryskoski and Bernhardson for interviews, but the district told us the two men also chose not to "participate" in an interview.
