The Crystal and New Hope Police Departments are working together after two separate armed robberies occurred Friday. It’s unclear if the robberies are related, but police say the suspects’ descriptions are similar.

New Hope Police were called to a Pizza Hut on the 7500 block of Bass Lake Road around 10 a.m. Friday after two male suspects dressed as construction workers entered with a dark colored handgun.

New Hope police said the only employee at the store was tied up. Police said she is uninjured and was able to call authorities after the suspects left.

No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Hope crime tip-line at 763-531-5169.

An armed robbery also happened in Crystal around the same time, police say. Police believe the two incidents may be related.

Crystal police officers say the robbery happened at the GameStop on the 5100 block of 36th Avenue North around 10:20 a.m.

Police say two masked male suspected entered the video game store, showed a handgun and demanded money. The employee working was hit with the firearm and detained before the suspects fled the scene.

The suspects in that incident are also still at large. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crystal Police Department at 763-531-1020.

Crystal Police and Robbinsdale Police, along with a K9 unit from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office search the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

No other information has been released.
