A balk and pair of wild pitches from Twins pitcher Samuel Deduno in the bottom of the 11th inning capped a disappointing afternoon Wednesday in Chicago as the White Sox outlasted Minnesota 7-6 at U.S. Cellular Field.

The play came on the heels of a throwing error by Trevor Plouffe on a play at the plate allowed the tying run to score in the ninth inning when Minnesota led 6-5.

Leury Garcia bunted up the third-base line on an 0-2 pitch leading off the 11th and took second when, with Adam Eaton at the plate, Deduno (0-1) never came to a set position and balked.

Eaton struck out, Deduno bounced an outside pitch that hit off Suzuki's glove as Garcia advanced, and Marcus Semien took a called third strike.

After an intentional walk to Jose Abreu, Deduno threw way outside on a 3-2 to pitch to Adam Dunn, and the ball bounced off Suzuki's glove as Garcia came home.

Before a crowd of just 10,625, Chicago trailed 6-4 in the ninth before Garcia's run-scoring single off closer Glen Perkins and Eaton's RBI grounder forced extra innings.

Chicago led 3-2 for most of the game, but Minnesota used a three run seventh inning, highlighted by Plouffe's 2-run single, to go ahead 5-3.

An Adam Dunn homer in the eighth inning cut the lead to 5-4, but catcher Kurt Suzuki delivered an RBI single in the ninth to extend the lead to 6-4.

Perkins then blew the save in his first chance this season.

Plouffe had three singles and three RBI. Suzuki finished with three hits.

The Twins will play Chicago Thursday afternoon in the final game of the series before heading to Cleveland for the weekend. Minnesota opens the home portion of the 2014 season Monday against the Oakland Athletics.
