Police in southern Minnesota are investigating after small explosives were found on an elementary school’s playground Monday.
Waseca Police were called by staff at Hartley Elementary School after three small handmade explosives were discovered on the playground.
Police say the devices appeared to be old and may have been recently discovered with the melting snow. One was found detonated, inside of a toy. Two others were discovered, one was detonated and the other had failed to ignite.
No one was hurt, according to police.
Police say at this point it’s unclear if the devices were intentionally left on the playground to hurt children.
Anyone with information is asked to call Waseca Police Department at 507-835-9720. They should ask to speak to an on-duty police officer.
