The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Gustav Olofsson to an entry-level contract, the team announced Monday. Olofsson played at Colorado College this past season, scoring eight points. He will report to the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League this week.

The deal is for three seasons starting with the 2014-15 season. He was a second round draft pick by the Wild in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Olofsson is a native of Boras, Sweeden. He helped his home country win a Silver Medal at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships in Malmo, Sweden, finishing tied for second in scoring amongst defensemen.

Prior to Colorado College, Olofsson skated for the Green Bay Gamblers in the United States Hockey League, scoring 23 points with a plus-11 rating in 63 games. He was named to the USHL All-Rookie Team and played in the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.
