The Mendota Bridge on Highway 55 is back open after a crash involving 61 vehicles Monday.
The collision resulted in one person being transported to the hospital for minor injuries, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Deputies say the chain-reaction crash occurred around 1 p.m. when two vehicles lost control and crashed, causing at least one semi to jackknife and more cars to crash.
KSTP spoke with a woman who was in a vehicle hit head-on by a truck. "I just knew in that split-second that we were going to make impact, we just didn't know how hard they were going to hit. And it's really amazing that no one died today because it was horrific to watch, it was terrifying," said Shelley Jones.
Snow was falling at the time of the crash.
At this point, additional details have not been released.
