Daniel Field recorded a brawl Tuesday on the Metro Transit route 19 bus that runs from Brooklyn Center to downtown Minneapolis. The woman in the video can be seen punching a guy several times and then she walks off the bus. He says, this isn't his first time he had recorded an incident.

"I think that's probably the third video I've gotten of fights and what not going on the bus," Field said.

He's not kidding, he's recorded three other fights. Field rides the route 19 bus to work everyday.

Metro Transit operates 123 bus routes. Their most troublesome route is the 5. The route runs from Brooklyn Center to the Mall of America. More than five million people rode that line last year. Metro Transit cops responded to calls for property damage, intoxicated passengers and 78 fights.

"We have systems in place so that when something like this does happen or something happens on board a bus or train police know about it quickly," said Drew Kerr, Public Relations Specials of Metro Transit.

Kerr says, their typical response time for their officers is seven minutes. Plus he says, Metro Transit Police increased their onboard hours five-fold. They average more than 1,300 hours per month riding buses.

We asked riders if they felt safe.

"I've ridden for about four years now and never had an issue," one rider said.

Field understands the officers can't be everywhere. However, he believes they should refocus their efforts.
