The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority says roughly 80 percent of the raw material from the Metrodome will be recycled.
Chris Niemand, Project Manager at Frattalone Companies, points to a four story tall pile of chunks of concrete from the dome. "That's all the concrete whether from floors, footing, all different aspects of the concrete," Niemand said.
Niemand says the concrete will be reduced to 3/4" chunks and used in local pavement projects.
Shane Alsdurf is a Yard Buyer for AMG Alliance. He points to a three story tall twisted pile of metal. "That is the guts of the Metrodome. It's a few different items, some rebar, there are some pillars."
Alsdurf says the metal will be melted down and reused. Some of it could be reused in Minnesota, some could be shipped over-seas.
