Hennepin County Medical Center raised a flag Wednesday afternoon to honor a young man's choice to be an organ donor.

Matt Heisler, 21, of Lakeville died Tuesday after a house fire over the weekend in North Dakota.

His choice to be an organ donor is an important one because it will help so many people.

Many Minnesotans are organ donors, in fact 63 percent are, according Lifesource. The national average is about 45 percent.

Susan Gunderson, CEO at Lifesource stopped by to talk more about the importance of organ and tissue donation.
