The Minneapolis boy who eluded security at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and hopped a flight to Las Vegas will return to his home, a Hennepin County District Court Judge ruled Wednesday.

The boy has been in a youth facility since October, where he has been receiving help for his behavior. The boy's father had pleaded and cried for help with controlling his son. The judge said once behavioral services are available for the boy at home he will be able to return to his family's care. At this point it's unclear when that will be.

In the meantime, there will be expanded visits between the boy and his parents to include Saturdays, the judge said.

The boy left his house in early October saying he was going to take the trash out. After that, he never came back. His parents assumed he was at a friend's house.

He was caught mid-flight by a flight attendant who became suspicious. He later returned to Minneapolis from Las Vegas. The story gained national attention.

The boy's next court appearance is set for May 28 at 11 a.m.
