Some Minnesotans are dealing with 10 inches of new snow as the winter season officially comes to an end. On the first day of spring, we looked back on some of the high points and low points of the 2013-2014 winter.

Seasoned Minnesotans know that just because the first day of spring arrives on the calendar Thursday, winter-like weather is still very much a possibility.

The National Weather Service recorded 10 inches at Ogilvie in Kanabec County, 8 inches at Isanti in Isanti County and Murdock in Swift County.

Commuters in the Twin Cities dealt with slushy snow with a little more than 2 inches at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Overall, 61 1/2 inches of snow fell this winter season, which is more than 12 inches of average to date.

Besides the snow, we also all learned a new term "Polar Vortex." It brought frigid temps from here all the way to the south.

Twenty-two states had below-average temperatures this winter, which includes Minnesota. It was the ninth coldest winter on record for the Twin Cities, with 50 days of below-zero temperatures, according to KSTP.com Meteorologist Dave Dahl.
