Monticello's Emily Gruber and Washburn's Chase Coley went at each other all night long before Coley and the Washburn Millers pulled away for a 62-53 win.
Coley, the Metro player of the year, had a massive night with 29 points and 15 rebounds.
Gruber did her best to match Coley with 24 points and 8 rebounds.
Three times in the second half, Gruber hit baskets to pull Monticello within two points of the Millers.
But that was as close as they'd get. Gruber's basket with 8:39 to go made it 47-45, but Coley hit back-to-back shots shortly after to give the Millers some room as they closed out on a 15-8 run to win it.
Washburn advances to play top-seed Park Center in Thursday's Class AAA Semifinals.
