A St. Peter woman, her 5-year-old daughter, and a Marion, S.D., man died Sunday after a head-on collision on Highway 169, southwest of the Twin Cities metro.

The crash occurred at 1 p.m. near milepost 58 in Nicollet County, between St. Peter and Mankato.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 36-year-old Lindi Paul of St. Peter was driving a Dodge Caliber when she lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the center median, crashing head-on with a Ford F-150.

Lindi Paul and her daughter, Emma, died after the crash. The driver of the truck, 65-year old Michael O'Boyle, also died following the crash.

The occupants of the truck, 65-year-old Kathryn O'Boyle and 8-year-old Owen O'Boyle, suffered non-life threatening injuries, while 4-year-old Annabelle O'Boyle was seriously injured.

The State Patrol says the highway was dry and no alcohol was detected.

Highway 169 was closed in the area for several hours following the collision. It has since reopened.

At this point, additional details have not been released.
