The crash occurred at 1 p.m. near milepost 58 in Nicollet County, between St. Peter and Mankato.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, 36-year-old Lindi Paul of St. Peter was driving a Dodge Caliber when she lost control of the vehicle and it crossed the center median, crashing head-on with a Ford F-150.
Lindi Paul and her daughter, Emma, died after the crash. The driver of the truck, 65-year old Michael O'Boyle, also died following the crash.
The occupants of the truck, 65-year-old Kathryn O'Boyle and 8-year-old Owen O'Boyle, suffered non-life threatening injuries, while 4-year-old Annabelle O'Boyle was seriously injured.
The State Patrol says the highway was dry and no alcohol was detected.
