A man who was shot and killed in a home on the 1800 block of Hillside Avenue in North Minneapolis on Saturday night has been identified by officials as 35-year-old Jerome Donell Turner.

According to John Elder, spokesperson for the Minneapolis Police Department, police responded to a report of a shooting around 11:40 p.m. Saturday, March 8. When they arrived, they found a man injured in the entryway of the home.

Turner was transported to North Memorial Medical Center with critical injuries, Elder says. He died Sunday morning from those injuries.

Investigators continue to follow up on leads. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to send a text to 847 411 (tip 411), enter MPD and the tip or call the tipline at 612-692-TIPS (8477). All texts are anonymous.

This shooting is in addition to another man in Minneapolis dying from apparent gunshot wounds on Saturday night. Elder says it appears the shootings are not related.
