People are paying their respects Sunday to a fallen Minnesota marine.
The visitation for Lance Cpl. Caleb Erickson was held Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.
The 20-year-old died Feb. 28 from injuries he received in an attack by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan. He was seated in the gunner's turret on the last truck in the convoy when a suicide bomber in another vehicle crashed into the convoy, Erickson's sister Ruebecca said.
Erickson's body arrived at Owatonna's airport Saturday afternoon and from there it was taken by motorcade to Waseca. The route on old Highway 14 between Owatonna and Waseca was lined with well-wishers holding American flags and signs of appreciation.
Erickson's funeral will take place Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Gov. Mark Dayton ordered all federal and state flags be flown at half-staff Monday.
Erickson attended Waseca High School where he was involved in football and wrestling.
