Hermantown will play for the Class A State Championship for the fifth consecutive year. They beat New Prague 4-2 in Friday's first semifinal game and will play the winner of the East Grand Forks-St. Cloud Cathedral game on Saturday for the championship.

Ryan Carlson's first period goal and Kori Ochs second period goal put the 2nd-seeded Hawks up 2-0 through two periods.

The two teams then exchanged goals in the third period. Scott Wasbotten made it a 3-0 Hawks lead 1:17 into the third before Austin Isaacson answered for New Prague. Wasbotten tallied again with just under two minutes to go.  New Prague's Casey Busch closed out the scoring in the final minute.

After losing the Class A title game to Blake in 2010, Hermantown lost Championship games in 2011, 2012 and 2013 to St Thomas Academy.

Hermantown is the first team since 1966 to appear in five straight State Championship games.

Only Eveleth (1948-1952, 4 titles) and International Falls (1962-1966, 4 titles) have accomplished the feat.
