A small area of freezing rain and mist along with a bit of sleet moved through the Twin Cities metro Friday morning.

After a mild day on Thursday with lots of melting, we are about to undergo a bit of a cool down, Ken says. Northwesterly winds on Friday afternoon and evening will slowly drop the temperatures back into familiar territory -- the single numbers.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported icy conditions in the St. Cloud area. Troopers responded to 62 crashes, 30 were rollovers and nine of those crashes had injuries. There were 106 spin outs, 30 were semis.

Sunday temperatures are expected to rise to close to 40 degrees and will likely eclipse 40 here on Monday.
