New Prague used three goals in a 2:38 span in the second period to surge ahead of Chisago Lakes on the way to a 5-2 win in a Class A State Hockey Tournament quarterfinal Wednesday.
New Prague's line of Seth Kriha, Alex Gregor and Austin Isaacson were a menacing force combining for all five New Prague goals and a total of 13 points.
New Prague outshot Chisago Lakes 24-9 en route to winning its first-ever State Tournament game.
Gregor scored twice and Isaacson once in the Trojans' three-goals-in 158-seconds flurry in the second period that turned momentum permanently toward New Prague.
Chisago Lakes had opened the scoring on William Knaak's first-period tally, but it Kriha matched it knotting the game at 1-1 through one period.
Kriha scored again in the third to make it 5-1 before Chisago Lakes' Blake Lizotte stopped the flurry of five unanswered New Prague goals.
Conner Wagner made seven saves earning the victory.
