Two young women are recovering after their parents died from carbon monoxide poisoning in Polk County on Monday morning.
According to authorities, 49-year-old Kent Ostgaard and 51-year-old Natalie Ostgaard were pronounced dead at their home in rural Crookston.
Their daughter, 22-year-old daughter Aryanna Ostgaard was unconscious but still breathing. Chief Sheriff's Deputy Jim Tadman says she is in critical condition at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
The couple's 17-year-old daughter was found conscious inside the residence. She was transported to Riverview Hospital for medical attention and has since been released into the care of relatives, authorities say.
The cause of the carbon monoxide leak is unknown, authorities say. There was no furnace running at the time. It is unknown how long it had been out. There were two electrical heaters running in the home.
The preliminary autopsy report is expected to be released Tuesday.
