It's been a brutal winter, and it's not getting much better anytime soon.

A Winter Weather Advisory is expected to expire at 3 a.m. Thursday for portions of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, and Wisconsin. Travel is expected to become difficult due to blowing and drifting snow.

A Blizzard Warning is expected to expire 3 a.m. for a large part of central and southern Minnesota. The warning area includes the counties of Carver, Wright and Scott. Morning Chief Meteorologist Ken Barlow says winds are gusting to about 30 mph and will continue through the evening. Winds may gust as high as 45 to 50 mph in some outlying open areas outside of the Twin Cities metro. Whiteouts are possible from time to time across the open areas of the state. The wind will slowly die down late Wednesday, but enough of a breeze will remain Thursday morning to create wind chills as low as -25 to -30 at times.

Temperatures are expected to stay in the single digits for most of the week.
