The constant cold and frequent snowstorms this winter has many Minnesotans looking for a place to warm up without breaking the bank or boarding a plane.
5 EYEWITNESS NEWS checked out a few locations Thursday and found people doing anything they could to look forward to spring. In Woodbury, there is The Lookout Ridge Indoor Playground at the city's central park and library. For about $5 kids can play for the day.
In Minneapolis’ Bachmans Nursery and Café, folks were enjoying a coffee or pastry surrounded by flowers which helped them think of spring. Amy Grubenla of Edina said, “It’s been a long winter so we've been trying to make a plan once a week, to get out somewhere, indoors that's fun and has some sun."
The Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul also has warm, tropical exhibits to make you feel like you are in Hawaii or Florida. Admission there is a suggested $3 donation for adults and $2 for children.
