Mourners are leaving behind flowers, well wishes, and toys meant for five children who will never get to play with them.

Five of the seven children in the Lewis family died when their home in a North Minneapolis duplex started on fire Friday morning.

The memorial has been created by people, some of whom did not even know the victims, who felt compelled to come by the home and pay their respects.

The upper portion of the duplex, was home to 8 people; the five children who died and two others who got out alive. The father of the children also got out alive.

All three survivors are being taken care of at a hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
