Former Mpls. Cop Pleads Guilty to Soliciting Young Girls Online

A former Minneapolis police officer pleaded guilty to soliciting young girls online and then having sex with some of them.

Thirty-three-year-old Bradley Schnickel pleaded guilty to five of the 18 counts against him in Anoka County. Prosecutor Paul Young says Schnickel found 13 and 14-year-old girls to be "hot."

Young says Schnickel would send the young girls pictures of his genitals and ask for nude pictures in return.

He asked some of the girls to sneak out of their houses, he would pick them up, in some cases he gave them alcohol, and oftentimes he had sex with the minors.

"We believe this conduct, this many victims, this amount of damage to these victims and the community deserves a prison sentence," said Young.

Young is asking for just under 12 years in prison.

Schnickel will be sentenced in May.
