A Burnsville woman has been charged with multiple counts of manslaughter in connection to the death of her 4-year-old son last June.
According to the Dakota County Attorney's Office, the charges against 24-year-old Sha'reese Monique Miller are directly related to the indictment of 26-year-old William Alphonso Warr for the child's murder on Jan. 17.
According to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, Key’ontay Miller Peterson's death was ruled as a homicide, resulting from complications caused by blunt force injuries to his abdomen and chest.
The Medical Examiner also says the victim had multiple bruises on his head, face, arms, chest and back and also had eight broken ribs, breaks which occurred on at least two different occasions.
Authorities say Warr had an ongoing relationship with Miller, despite an order for protection prohibiting Warr from having contact with her, the victim and his 2-year-old brother. The two have a daughter together, according to the criminal complaint.
Miller made her first court appearance Monday. Bail was set in the amount of $100,000 with no conditions or $50,000 with conditions. Miller’s next court appearance in connection with these charges will be on Feb. 24 at 1:30 p.m. in Hastings.
