Brooklyn Park ID's Officer Involved in Saturday Night Shooting

The Brooklyn Park police officer involved in an officer-involved shooting Saturday night has been identified as Jason Chadbourne.

According to police, 22-year-old Shoua Yang was injured in the shooting, which occurred in a Brooklyn Park parking lot. Yang was later charged with second-degree assault.

Around 11 p.m. officers with the Brooklyn Park Police Department were dispatched to a large fight at Sisaket Oriental Market, located at 7324 Lakeland Avenue North, near 73rd Avenue and Bottineau Boulevard. After officers arrived on the scene, shots were fired, authorities said.

Police said Yang was taken to a hospital after he was shot by a Brooklyn Park officer, later identified as Chadbourne. Details on his condition have not been released.

Chadboune began his employment with the City of Brooklyn park in April of 2013.
    
The incident is under investigation.
