Authorities have identified the western Minnesota man whose body was found a few miles from his car during a blizzard.

Authorities said 55-year-old Gary Allen Kontz, of rural Stewart, had not been heard from since Sunday night.

According to the McLeod County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a report around 8:30 a.m. Monday of a man who was stuck in a car just south of the city of Stewart.

Authorities said Kontz was in a car on County Road 7 and 70th Street when the vehicle became stuck and he exited the vehicle.

His body was found approximately 2.5 miles from the vehicle, authorities said.
