The ferris wheel at the Mall of America will be shut down for the rest of the day after an incident lead to mall security having to take people off the ride, according to a mall spokesperson.

The spokesperson said the ride experienced problems with weight distribution earlier on Saturday. The mall had to employ alternative means to get people off the ride as a safety precaution, the spokesperson said.

No injuries were reported.
