Stillwater city officials are asking organizers of a new summer music festival called Stillwater Log Jam to change the name, saying it could be construed as vulgar.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports City Administrator Larry Hansen emailed festival organizer Cassie McLemore on Thursday to request the name change. He said it could be construed in a sexual way.
McLemore says no one had a problem with it last fall when the city council approved the group's proposal. She says the group doesn't plan a change.
She says city officials are being too sensitive and are making a "mountain out of a molehill." She says the other reference wouldn't cross most people's minds.
McLemore says the name also fits with the city's history, since it was a logging community.
