There is a boundary battle over schools in the north metro.

The Osseo Area Schools District is trying to address an overcrowding issue at Basswood Elementary in Maple Grove.  It's proposing to shift school boundaries, which would mean 109 Basswood Elementary students would be sent to Oakview Elementary instead. The achievement test scores there are not as high.

"I would rather be overpopulated here, than not here at all," said one concerned parent.

Superintendent Kate Maguire says they will take parent feedback into consideration and try and find the best solution. "The good news is that families love our schools.  It's also the bad news because you have to move families and it can be very emotional and difficult to do so," she said.

The district is having another work and listening session on Tuesday night, and is expected to take action Jan. 28.
