Two firefighters were hurt after a three-alarm fire at a home in Minneapolis Thursday night.

Crews were called to the 2300 block of West Lake of Isles Parkway around 8 p.m. Those inside were able to safely escape, according to fire officials.

Firefighters found fire in the walls, which expanded to the roof area. Due to the cold weather conditions extra help was called in to fight the fire. Crews were able to get the fire under control around 9:45 p.m., fire officials said.

Two MTC buses were brought in to provide shelter in the cold temperatures.

The home was extensively damaged by the fire. One firefighter was transported for a minor laceration, according to the Minneapolis Fire Department.

The cause of the fire appeared to the accidental and related to the radiant heating transfer from the chimney to combustible material within the ceiling.
