Minnesota health officials are seeing a spike in flu hospitalizations.

The latest report shows the flu is widespread and sent 144 people to the hospital last week. That's double the number of hospitalizations the week before.

Health officials expect flu activity to continue to increase. So far, no one has died from the flu this season.

KSTP checked in with Dr. Frank Rhame with Allina Medical Clinic to see how the flu this season compares to last season.

Meanwhile, the Liquid version of Tamiflu is in short supply in the United States.

This does not include the pill version. Tamiflu spokesperson attributes a high demand earlier in the flu season to the current shortage.

The liquid form is usually given to children between infancy and 13 years of age.
