Two of the metro’s biggest hospitals have been swamped with patients affected by cold weather.
Regions Hospital said since Saturday afternoon when the temperatures dipped, it has treated seven people for hypothermia and 26 for frostbite.
To put that into perspective, Regions Hospital said it treated 26 frostbite patients during all of last winter.
Hennepin County Medical Center said it has treated 35 people for frostbite since Jan. 1.
