Former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak had a second surgery Monday after suffering a heart attack Saturday.

Hospital officials told KSTP his second surgery went well, and he's in good condition.

Rybak tweeted, "Love this Abbott Northwestern Groupon. This second angioplasty is better than the first!"

Rybak arrived at the emergency room by ambulance at 1 p.m. Saturday, reporting shortness of breath and chest pains after cross-country skiing 7.7 miles in Theodore Wirth Park, according to Abbott.

The 58-year-old was taken to Abbott Northwestern Hospital Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory where doctors performed an angioplasty and inserted two stents, according to the hospital.

Rybak sent tweets after the incident. His 22-year-old daughter, Grace, said Rybak wanted to put people at ease about his condition.

"I think it shows how concerned he was that everyone know that he was okay," Grace said. "He was worried that others would think that it was more serious than it was."

John Stiles, Rykak's former spokesperson, said the former mayor's condition is most likely related to family history.

"He's one of the fittest people you'll meet, was named fittest mayor in America a few years ago," Stiles said. "So this is likely related to some family history more than anything else."

Besty Hodges was sworn in as the new mayor on Thursday. Rybak did not seek re-election for a fourth term.

Rybak has received a lot of support since the incident, from both supporters and opponents.

Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton issued the following statement after hearing the news of Rybak:

"On behalf of all Minnesotans, I extend my very best wishes to former Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak and his family. We all pray for his swift and complete recovery.

Our thanks go to the emergency responders and medical personnel, whose talents and training made the critical difference in the life of this outstanding leader, who has given so much to the people of Minneapolis and all of Minnesota."

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar made the following statement regarding former Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak's hospitalization:

"I wish RT a speedy recovery. A man of boundless energy and stamina and optimism, he will rise to this challenge as he has risen to so many for the City of Minneapolis, our state and country."
