As you were watching the Rose Parade New Years Day, you might have spotted a Minnesota band.

The Rosemount High School Marching Band performed on national television.

Meanwhile, back at home parents and friends gathered for a viewing party to watch the big moment together.

The band was chosen by a panel of judges that viewed audition tapes

Rosemount found out they'd be marching in Wednesday's parade about a year ago.

Under directors Steve Olsen, Leon Sieve and Bojan Hoover, the band has earned seven consecutive state championships and has been named Champion Parade Marching Band at the State Fair the past four years.

It is the first time in seven years a band from Minnesota has been asked to perform at the Rose Parade
