It's an emotional and bittersweet Christmas for one church pastor.

For the last 16 years Pastor Steve Ferber has led the congregation at Living Branch Lutheran in North Branch. In its history, he's the church's only pastor.

He built the church from the ground up, one member at a time. But it was Ferber's last Christmas Eve as a pastor at the church as he is being called elsewhere.

"It's emotional. I've been here 16 years, knocked on every door in North Branch. I love the community and I love our people, so it's going to be hard to say goodbye," he said.

Ferber will deliver his final sermon Sunday. Afterward, he will go to a church in Wayzata.
