On Dasher and Dancer...on Prancer... and in Plymouth, on Steve Gronwell.

"That's the beauty of the job. You are this character that everybody likes."

For the past three years on Christmas Eve, Gronwell has spent his holiday much like Santa: hauling precious cargo.

"You drive around and you look at what other people have set up for you," said Gronwell.

Gronwell is a driver for Renee's Royal Valet. The company offers holiday light tours to families and those enjoying their holiday spirits with a party. He's keeping the roads safe while still honoring a tradition for the ages.

"And then you pull up to a house and everything stops and you get this, 'Oh my goodness, oh look at that!"

Gronwell's boss gave every driver the option to either stay home and celebrate the holiday or work. Gronwell chose to offer a festive and sober ride on the roads.

"My kids are with their mom on Christmas Eve and they're with my family on Christmas Day," he said. "I'm not with my kids so this is second best!"

He knows the best spots for light gazing and enjoys it just as much as the guests he's carrying.

"The whole job is one that you take pride in," he said.

Light tours range from $300-$600 for a 2.5 hour tour. Renee's light tours run through the end of the year.
